Valentine's Day has come and gone, and some of you might be left with an empty feeling, especially if your loved one has already resorted back to their slovenly and selfish ways.

Feel like the spark in your relationship only really ignites when Valentine's Day comes around? Well here are five helpful hints to keep your relationship fresh and exciting all throughout the year!

1.) Spontaneity is key! Keep your lover on their toes with unexpected gifts, unexpected hugs, and unexpected blows to the lower abdomen.

2.) Communication is key! Be sure to share everything with your significant other, no matter how embarrassing it is! Things like, "I love the way your eyes sparkle" or "You have a beautiful body" or "I think you have a drinking problem" or even "Your knee is in my crotch" are all things that can help strengthen your relationship.

3.) Maturity is key! Being a mature and responsible lover builds trust and can help you grow closer to each other. Try to avoid things like posting their personal diary online or rubbing boogers into their hair!

4.) Sexuality is key! Try to spice up things in the bedroom by introducing new things into your sex life such as: Toys, light S&M and bondage gear, other people, food, midgets, foreign exchange students, industrial power tools, fictional literary characters, and wild exotic animals. Just imagine the look on your lovers face when you bring a bengal tiger to bed!

5.) Love is key! Look deep in your lovers' eyes, and realize two things: One is that this is the person you've decided to spend the rest of your life with, this is your soulmate. You've chosen this person because they are loving, caring, and understand your needs. They will always be there for you in the roughest of times, and will help you see through your own personal tragedies. They are not just your friend, but they are your lover. The second thing you need to realize is that you probably won't do much better than them, so you should just give up while you're ahead.
